We’re thrilled to share the captivating transformation of the Neilsen House, a historic gem nestled in the village of Harvey. Built in the late 1800s and having only two previous owners, this century home was in need of a comprehensive update. Embracing the challenge, we embarked on a labor of love, revealing the hidden post and beam construction beneath the old plaster and lath.
The Neilsen House underwent a complete transformation, with new insulation and drywall, a relocated and newly built kitchen, updated bathrooms, and numerous adjustments for an open concept feel, all while incorporating modern standards. As project manager, Shawn led the demolition and took care of the finishing touches, such as trim, floors, and siding. Melissa, on the other hand, selected all the furnishings, including the kitchen, lighting, and flooring choices. Today, the beautifully restored Neilsen House stands as a cornerstone of the community, ready for the new family to create lasting memories.
